you have finished your research and are now ready to use your creative
mind to create your brochure. Follow the instructions below.
1. On a piece of notebook paper, create a rough draft of what your brochure will look like. Fold your paper in thirds.
2. The first
column will be your introduction and include the following:
a. a hand drawn
picture that relates to your topic
b. a title,
your name, grade, and school name
c. write a short
paragraph explaining to people what they are going to find inside your
brochure.
d. add any creative
touches, as long as it does not distract from the point of your brochure
3. The second
column will be about the causes and effects and include the following:
a. a title and
picture that relates to your topic
b. explain the
causes and effects of the natural disaster
You may do this
in paragraph form, or another form that you feel is neat and easy to understand.

4. The third
column will explain what people can do in the event that the natural disaster
does occur and will include the following:
a. a title and
picture that relates to your topic
b. give people
the steps to follow if the natural disaster does occur or what to do to
prevent injury

touches, as long as it does not distract from the point of your brochure
5. On the back of you brochure, list the web addresses you used to obtain your information.
6. Double check your work, and then have a neighbor or family member proofread and revise it for you as well. Remember, we are giving these to the Red Cross and they need to be error free.
7. Now make your
final draft. Your brochure should be in ink, neat, and readable.
When you feel you are finished, go to the evaluation page and grade your work before you hand it in.
