The Library Media Specialists in each building will . . .
1 use the suggestions of peers, teachers, administration, and other various tools to select materials and equipment that are appropriate to the curricula of the schools in which they serve.
2 use suggestions of peers, teachers, administration and other various tools to purchase materials that promote an appreciation of a wide variety of literature and develop a love of reading.
3 provide professional materials to help teachers plan lessons that are
appropriate to the curriculum of the schools in which they serve.
4 administer a yearly survey to teachers to ensure that materials and services provided meet the information needs of the school population.
5 strive to attend grade-level and/or subject-level meetings to assist in
integrating library materials into classroom planning and instruction.
6 maintain updated schedules/calendars to assist teachers in the use of the library facilities and materials.
7 introduce students and teachers to information literacy by integrating appropriate lessons such as story elements, copyright, bibliographic formats, Internet evaluation, etc.,into library lessons and workshops.
8 include programs that will make reading fun for both students and teachers.
