the metric system

The metric system; what is it? The metric system is a system of measurement that lots of other countries have accepted. The base number for this measuring system was ten. It seemed like a logical choice, because it is what most tribes use all around the world. Possibly because we have ten toes and ten fingers.

There is a lot of controversy as to who invented the metric system. By the reaserch I have conducted it was invented by the French, in the late 18th century. Some people thought that it was invented by a group of scientists from all around the world.

The French decided to conduct an experiment. This experiment was designed to measure the earth's mass. They conducted this experement and found out that the earth's mass is aproxamently 400,000 meters.(wow!)

American citizens have been wanting or looking forward to having the metric system in American schools.

I personally would enjoy the metric system because it would be easier to calculate things.
