LEONARDO FIBONACCI

Leonardo Fibonacci was born in Pisa, Italy around 1170. He died in Pisa,
Italy around 1250 at the age of 80. He is the son of Guilielom Bonacci,
a secretary of the Republic of Pisa. He was educated in North Africa where
his father held a diplomatic post. He traveled a lot with his father to
places like Egypt, Syria, Greece, Sicily, and Province. He invented the
Hindu Arabic place-value decimal system. He also invented the sequence of
numbers such as 1+1=2 2+1=3 3+2=5 5+3=8 8+5=13 and so on.

He was apart of inventing the Roman numerals such as I=1 V=5 X=10 L=50
C=100 D=500. Fibonacci made the first 500 numbers. He wrote a book called
Liber Abaci. Today a journal is related to topics related to the
sequence.
