Aristotle was born in 384 B.C. in Stagirus , Macediona ,Greece . In 367 Aristotle became a student at Plato's academy in Athens . Soon he became a teacher at the academy . In 335 B.C. Aristotle founded his own school the Lyceum in Athens .
Aristotle placed emphasis in his school on direct observation of nature , and in science he taught that theory must follow the fact .
Aristotle's father, Nicomachus , was a noted physican . Aristotle studied under Plato's at the academy and there he wrote many Dialogues that were praised for their eloquence .
Aristotle is considered one of the two most great philosphers of antiquity along with Plato ,and to be the greastest philosphers of all time . Aristotle lived and taught in Athens for the majority of his career .
He started as a pupil of Plato , and for some time was the tutor for Alexandar the Great varity of subjects , varying from biology , and astronomy to rhetoric and literary criticism , from political theory to abstract philosphy . He wrote two treaties on ethics , called Eudemachus and Nicomachean after their first editors , his pupil Eudermus and his son Nicomachus .
