Turtles & Sea Shells

by Ross

When Epimetheus was giving gifts to all the animals he forgot

about the turtles. Every day when Hermes would fly over sending

messages, he would see turtles being eaten. Pretty soon there where

hardly any turtles left.

One day Hermes decided to tell Zeus about the problem. Zeus agreed something needed to be done. Zeus sent Hermes to Epimetheus to tell him the problem. Epimetheus also agreed that something needed to be done, so he made sea shells to protect the turtles. He put the sea shells in the ocean, because not many predators go in the water.

One day Hermes was on one of his trips when he noticed the turtles getting eaten when they left the water and their shells to get food. Hermes spoke to Epimetheus about the problem. He decided to make a permanent shell for the turtles. Epimetheus was about to destroy all the sea shells when he noticed that small helpless creatures were using them for safety so he decided to let them stay.
