The Skeptical Speed of the Cheetah

BY Marc

Once in a far away land there was a cheehah, an animal with black spots all over him. He was running one day when a rabbit challenged him to a race. Friends, frogs, gods, and birds gathered to watch. "On your marks get set . . . Gooo!!! " They're off. The cheehah took a big leap which put him in the lead. But the rabbit came back and blew the cheehah away.

So after the race the cheehah was sad because he didn't have enough speed to win. He went walking and a big breeze blew upon him. It was his old friend Blow. Blow said,"What is the matter with you?"

Cheehah replied," All of the other animals are faster than me." They talked on and on, and then they came to an agreement on cheehah and his speed. The agreement was for Blow to give cheehah some of his speed.

Now everyone that raced cheehah would be blown out, not at first, but closer to the middle of the race. Zeus thought to himself,"Just the other day that cheehah was as slow as ever." So Zeus called for cheehah and Blow to come to him. Zeus told Blow that he was mad at him for giving the speed of wind to cheehah.

Then Zeus turned to cheehah and said, "I am more mad at you for not getting the speed for yourself. And since you cheated to get your speed , your species' name is now cheetah coming from cheater. Also your speed will be reduced by tiny bags to your legs and whatever speed you get is the speed for the rest of your species. Blow your speed will be reduced by the amount of speed cheetah gets." So at the end of his trial his speed was seventy miles per hour and so Blow's wind speed was reduced by seventy.
