Gods are Cheap

The great samurai warrior Kamaneti Eval has become a grand master in the arts of swordsmanship, magery [spell casting], magic resistance, throwing, stalking [stealth] hiding, and hand to hand combat. He was so strong, people wondered, could he be immortal?

The year was 1000 A.D., a millennium fair was going on. The traveling samurai Kamanetti Eval was visiting the town of Dorter, a large trade city. Kamaneti had many admirers and followers, but only one friend. His friend was a Olin, a wandering clairvoyant who is now a journeyman with Kamaneti.

Kamaneti had made so many accomplishments in the past without a scratch on him. "I need some excitement in my life," said Kamaneti. So far, I've had no challenges . Every time I fight someone, it's just poof, I fire a gamma beam from my palms or I just simply thrust at someone's stomach and they're dispatched." Olin didn't say anything as usual.

Just then a man popped out and said, "You look like a heavy drinker, drink eight cups of beer in under a minute and win the sword of ninja's bane or in other words, a muramasa blade. It has been handed down from samurai to ninja, ninja to samurai, this is by far the most powerful sword ever." Kamaneti easily won.

"I think perhaps I'll challenge a god," Kamaneti said. Then a fencer named Alex started cracking up.

"You're going to fight a god?!" he said, "I'll bet you can't even beat me!" Then Alex pulled out his spear and plunged at Kamaneti. Kamaneti easily dodged and vanquished Alex with one swipe.

Kamaneti and Olin were enjoying the festival when Poseidon arose from the sea. "So, you will challenge a god to test your strength," said Poseidon.

"Yes, I am," replied Kamaneti.

"Then you will fight me," said Poseidon.

"Very well," said Kamaneti. "We'll fight right here, right now."

"I sense, mister Kamaneti..."

Kamaneti then interrupted, "What are the odds on me winning?"

"99 to 1 against," said Olin. Kamaneti didn't care, he was going to fight anyway. Poseidon took the form of a mer folk warrior. He took his halberd and jammed it into Eval's stomach. People thought it was already over. Kamaneti rose and said, "I won't fail on my journey." He then drew his sword and thrust at Poseidon. Poseidon dodged and jammed his spear straight through him.

"Give up mortal being!" shouted Poseidon.

"Never," said Kamaneti. "I didn't want anyone to know about this," Kamaneti said, "But now I have no choice." He then discharged a taser with plasma rings around it. It instantly killed Poseidon and the gods, being disgraced, ran away and since then no one believed in the gods.
