How Birds Got Their Names and Color

Once upon a time, Zeus and the other gods and goddesses were having a meeting on the top of Mount Olympus.

"We should have a new kind of animal," Aphrodite said. "It should be a beautiful animal.

"And dark colors," Hades said.

"It will be called a bird then," replied Zeus.

So Zeus made birds, and the gods where happy with the birds. Then one day Aphrodite notices that the bird didn't look as nice as they did before. Therefore, Aphrodite went to Zeus.

"The birds should all have different colors and different names also," Aphrodite said.

"I will think of something, I just need some peace and quiet," he said with thunder in his voice.

So he started to think. When he had an idea he called the gods and goddesses.

"I have made up my mind, we will put all the bids in a room and I will make a rainbow, then I will drop the rainbow, and the birds will have color. For the names, each of you may take a couple of birds and name them whatever you want, with my approval," he said.

Then the gods and goddesses where happy.
