Poseidon, the god of water, was angry at Zeus, the god of gods, for banishing him from Mount Olympus. Poseidon got so mad the water stated to destroy the land all over the world. Zeus was hearing the cries of his worshipers, and was afraid they all were going to die. So he called on Hephaestus, the god of fire, to make something to make more land.
Hephaestus had a hard time thinking of a idea to help the land build itself. But one day Hephaestus was working on a sword in his workshop. When he looked at the tip, it was in the shape of cone. He started to work and made a 3-D cone with a hole in the center. He melted some rock and put it in the bottom. Then he put some pressure on the bottom and up popped the liquid rock. After it cooled it made a little bit of ground underneath it. He showed it to Zeus, and Zeus saw it and told him to put some of the cones all over the world.
After awhile the land came back. Zeus named it a Volcano. Soon all the people came back. Then, all of the people lived happier and had more food then before. The people thanked Zeus and Hephaestus for what they had done. Poseidon was punished and sent to serve Hades forever.
