Stars

Have you ever wondered why there are stars? The stars were created long ago when Hermes the messenger told Zeus that the universe was a boring place. There was only the sun, the moon, and the Earth. The Earth only had plants and animals. No one was there to worship the gods.
During the next few weeks, Zeus, Hera, and Apollo talked and talked about how to create humans and where in the world they should live. The reason they chose humans was because they wanted someone to worship them but wouldn't be equal to them. They only made 30 humans and then stopped to see how they would survive. When Hades realized he wasn't included in this new creation he became angry, he decided to cause the humans a little trouble and he gave them emotions. The humans felt sorrow every time one of their fellow humans died. They didn't know how to deal with their sadness and turned to the gods for help.
Hades' interference made the gods very angry. They threatened to take away his powers if he didn't stop interfering with the humans. This threat made Hades angry. He then gave the humans more and more feelings.
Hermes was sent down to the underworld to tell Hades that Zeus wanted to talk with him. Hades could have cared less about this request. Zeus was angry by this and took away all of Hades' powers away and threw him into outer space.
The humans still had their emotions and didn't know how to deal with them. The hardest emotion was still the death of their friends, but now for every loved one lost, Hades sent a baby to Earth to replace the dead ones.
Zeus could not undo the emotions given by Hades but wanted to help the humans deal with then. He promised to place a star in the night skies for every death. This way the humans would have something to remind them of their lost friends. This made the humans happy and they worshiped the gods even more.
