The Origin of Earthquakes

One day down on Earth humans were making up a basketball tournament. This tournament was to be played all over the world.

During that time, Zeus on Mount Olympus was listening and thinking that he should make up his own team. He then told Hermes to go to the underworld and get Hades, and then to the seas to get Poseidon. He also told him to get Apollo from the sky.

When Hermes came back with them, Zeus asked if they would be on his basketball team to play the humans. They all agreed with him and went to sign up.

In a couple of weeks they started playing the tournament. They first started in the United States. They won most of their games up until California, where they lost. When the gods lost they became very angry and when that happened they started jumping up and down. When they did that the Earth started shaking and now those are known as earthquakes. Usually the gods don't lose, except in most places like Japan and in other countries that have earthquakes. So that is how earthquakes came around.
