Men are from Mars, Women are from Aphrodite
By Corrie

On the frosty peak of Mount Olympus, the goddess Aphrodite mourned. She was bored. "The earth is such a dull, dreary, place. It seems to be missing something." She sighed. It really bothered Aphrodite that she couldn't figure out what was wrong. After all, she was the goddess of love, she was supposed to be perfect. If only she could figure it out. But there wasn't time now, she had to attend Zeus' festival before sunset.
After Aphrodite dressed and was fully prepared, she ascended to the highest peak of Mount Olympus where Zeus reigned. She entered the ballroom which was ordinarily filled with statues of gods and goddesses (most of which were sculpted by Medusa herself), but today it was littered with lights and bright decorations. Aphrodite took a seat, preparing for Zeus' famous speech. She looked to the left of her and saw friendly, smiling faces of gods and goddesses talking among themselves. She had never been alone before, what with her power of love and grace, but during Zeus' festival, no other god was to use his or her power.
Suddenly, the crowd was hushed, as Zeus' himself entered the ballroom. Great gods and goddesses alike sat to hear, yet again, the story of Zeus. But unlike his normal tales of power and magic, Zeus spoke of a new being. A being so strong, and so perfect, all other mortals would be considered secondary and overlooked. Aphrodite listened with awe and interest to all that Zeus was saying. "This is exactly what we need," she murmured.
Aphrodite returned home and made Woman. Woman was beautiful with silky brown hair and long, dark, lashes. Aphrodite was so amused, she made millions of copies of Woman, each a bit different from the next. But soon Woman fought amongst herself over who was most beautiful. Aphrodite became worried that soon Woman would find a way to make herself more beautiful than Aphrodite herself, so she invented Man. That way there wouldn't be any competition. Now, every time a woman thinks another woman is more beautiful than she, she can look at man and be thankful for what beauty she does have.
