ome schools and college subjects have Greek names, like

Arithmetic , Biology , and Geography . This is because the Ancient Greeks

started and built most Modern Education .

Sometime between the 1200's and 800's B.C. the Greeks borrowed

the Phoenician Alphabet , but the Phoenicians had no signs to show vowels.

The Greeks made letters to stand for vowels sounds . The Romans took

over the Greek alphabet and then passed it on to us .
