As a Southeast K-8 Pride student you have a mission to accomplish for the student council committee. Your team is competing for the trophy that has been won by your class for the last 3 years. You have to create a persuasive speech and a budget on the animal in which you feel the student council should sponsor this year at the Kansas City Zoo.

You are on the Lions team this year. This has been a winning team for the last 3 years and the pressure is on for you and your team to continue the winning spirit. You and your team are ready for the challenge because your rivalry (Sally) is on the other team. You and Sally have been very competive with each other since the first grade. She has won 3 times and so have you. You would like to be one up on her this year so this competition is very important to you.Plus you really love animals and you know Sally really does not care for animals. Your team will be creating a persuasive speech and a budget on which animal the student council should sponsor this year at the Kansas City, Missouri Zoo. You are fired up and ready to start. You have learned researching your topic is the best way to become a winner. The three animals at the Kansas City Zoo that your team has to research is Kenney the kangaroo, Edward the elephant and Henry the Hippo. All three animals are your favorite animals at the zoo. You only know a few facts about each animal in which is not enough to persuasive the student council to support one of these three animals. Find out more information about the three animals by searching the web resources. Complete the table after finishing the search. This will help you better prepare yourself and the team to see which animal you should focus on.
