Wacky Weather
Adventure.
You will be taking an exciting journey during which you will be doing an in-depth study of weather. During this adventure you will be learning all about different weather systems. You will be also doing various experiments that will help you make your decisions as you progress through your adventure. You will be using resources from the internet, library, and your science books to help you on your journey.
The purpose of this adventure is help you learn how to use the computer to research and investigate different ideas that will be discussed in your adventure. The computer will not be your only way to learn information to help you make your decisions. This is your adventure. The more you enjoy it the more fun you will have.
Holly and Jack' Surprise
Holly and Jack woke up one Saturday morning anxious to get outside and play. When they looked out the window they saw lots of dark clouds. Holly and Jack were sad that their plans for the day were going to be washed away. Their mom however, had an idea on how they could spend their day and still have fun.
After Holly and Jack ate breakfast mom called them into the living room and gave them a box. Holly and Jack ripped open the box and found a very strange looking radio. Mom told them that this was no a regular radio.
When they turned it on the strangest thing happened. Instead of their favorite music playing, the box shook and then made a sound like rain on the roof. The radio then started glowing and everything got very bright. All of a sudden Holly and Jack noticed that the furniture had gotten very big.
All of a sudden Holly and Jack felt themselves slip off the couch and slide to the door. Jack looked at mom and asked, "What is happening?" Mom told Jack and Holly that for today they were going to get to see what it was like to be part of the weather they thought had ruined their day.
Jack and Holly looked at each other and decided it would be a fun way to spend a cloudy day. Mom opened the door and Holly and Jack slipped outside. As they rolled down the steps together, they started to get smaller and smaller.

As they started rising in the air Holly and Jack began to worry how high they would go. Check out this site to learn about Earth’s atmosphere and the different levels. Be sure to record your findings on your notebook paper.
As they floated in the atmosphere, Holly and Jack began to wonder how they would get back to Earth. Look at the web sites below to help Holly and Jack choose which way to return to Earth. Be sure to record what the word condense means to Holly and Jack.
