Welcome teachers to the Back To the Past teacher evalutaion page.  This iAdventure increases the student's knowledge on the American Revolution and allows them to examine some of the major influences in the war.  It aslo is a good chance for them to work on the writing skills when writing the script.

Some of the Show Me Standards include:
*Performance standards*:
Goal-1:
2. conduct research to answer questions and evaluate information and ideas
Goal-2:
7. use technological tools to exchange information and ideas
Goal-3:
1. explain reasoning and identify information used to support decisions

*Knowledge Standards*:
Communication Arts-
1. speaking and writing standard English (including grammar, usage, punctuation, spelling, capitalization)
3. reading and evaluating nonfiction works and material (such as biographies, newspapers, technical manuals)
4. writing formally (such as reports, narratives, essays) and informally (such as outlines, notes)
History-
2. continuity and change in the history of Missouri, the United States and the world
6. relationships of the individual and groups to institutions and cultural traditions

~The students will write a script based on all the information they have learned about the person they chose. They will research that person and then combine everything they learned into the script. The script will help shape who the person they chose was, what they stood for, and how his events impacted the American Revolution.  It must have a setting, climax, and conclusion and include at least four scenes.  You may decide to have your students work in groups and act out their script.~

Here is the rubric for the script.  How they write it is up to you the teacher and if you want them to act it out is up to you too.
