Ahoy mates! Welcome to the wonderful world of E. Magination. My name is Captain E. Magination, and I will be
leading you through this voyage as you travel through the fascinating world of literature (a.k.a. A.R. book). To begin this voyage, your first task is to select an A.R. book to help you travel to the world of E. Magination. What type of book are you going to choose? Have you explored your library lately? With so many books to choose from, how will you ever decide? Fortunately, I have a web resource that will assist you in choosing a book designed especially for you! (Aren't you glad I'm here to help:)
To search available resources available within the Raymore-Peculiar Elementary libraries, please click on one of the books below. As you search the list of available books, write down the title of at least three books that you would like to adventure.
Now that you have selected three books that are of interest to you. You need to make a choice as to which book you are going to read to start your adventure. To help you do this, I have selected some web resources that provide book reviews for your reviews. Before you begin your review, please click here to print out an adventure log to record your findings.
Click on one of the books below to begin your review. Oh, by the way, if you cannot find your book, perhaps you would like to complete a book review for other students to use. If this is the case, please see your teacher for assistance.

Great! Now that you have finished Adventure 1, you are ready to begin your real adventure by beginning to read! To assist you for your adventure, I have created a resource to help you. Please click here to print out an iAdventure Reading Log. Remember to record carefully for future adventures.
Wow, back so soon! That was fast reading! I hope that you enjoyed your reading adventure and are ready to embark on a new journey.
Are you ready to begin a new adventure? I know that I am waiting for you in E.Magination land! Throughout my travels in E.Magination land, I have noticed that a lot of books have two different type of characters. Your particular adventure might have contained only one character, or perhaps several characters. Each of these characters have special names as you will soon find out on Adventure 2.
One of the most important features of a story are the characters. The characters are the focus and, therefore, the force that moves the story along. Without an understanding of the main character's personality and growth, a story can be meaningless to the reader.
This adventure is designed to help you learn more about two types of characters( which by the way can be animal characters) that are possible within your story--either an antagonist or a protagonist. To determine what defines an antagonist and protagonist, please use the web resources below.

Now that you know what an antagonist and protagonist are, please complete a Venn Diagram to show the appropriate characteristics of each type of character. You may either draw your own diagram or click here to print a handout. When you finish your diagram, please put in your folder to turn in at the end of this iadventure.
Although you now know what an antagonist and protagonist are, which type of character is BEST represented in the book that you read? As you make your choice, think about what character influenced you most. Look at the following questions to help you make your decision:
1. Which character did you admire the most? Why?
2. Which character would you like for a friend? Why?
3. Which character are you most like? Why?
4. Which character do you like least? Why?
5. Which character could you learn something from? Why?
Once you have made your decision, please click below to take you to your next adventure.
