As you gather the strength and courage to press the button, you begin to sweat. You reconsider, but after a few seconds you decide to go through with it.  At first, nothing happens. You feel like you've been cheated after working so hard so you press the button again. Again, nothing. In frustration, you pound on the "England" button.  All of a sudden the attic grows completely dark. Then, as if it were a bolt of lightning, there was a tremendous flash of light. As your eyes begin to focus again, you notice that you are no longer in your attic. Instead, you are in the middle of a grove of trees and bushes. You gently grab for the door handle to open it when you notice that the shirt you are wearing is not the shirt you were wearing. You are now dressed in 1770 British clothes.

You are almost knocked down as you walk out from the grove of trees by a horse and rider speeding by. The rider continues down a path for a few more yards and then turn around and comes up to you. "My apologies." he claims as he rides up. "I must make haste to deliver this message to our Majesty King George III!" He spins around and gallops off into the distance in a cloud of dust.

Following the path, you come to the outskirts of a town. You inquire from a passerby, and discover that the name of the town is London. The passerby runs away after telling you that the date is July 4th, 1776. He must have thought that you were crazy.

As you walk into the town, you notice that most of the people are gathering in the church. You decide to follow them to find out what is going on.

You remember from your schooling that people from around this time period often killed others that acted weird blaming it on witchcraft. You take a seat in the back so as not to cause suspicion.  It is soon discovered that the town seems to be arguing as to whether or not to declare war on the colonies in America. The meeting is adjourned until tomorrow afternoon. You have chosen two people, one from each side of the argument to talk to before the next meeting to get all the information needed before having to make a decision.
