Realistic Art

Congratulations!
You've made your first decision as the new Blue Springs Art Museum curator. The selection of a realistic artwork would be a great addition to the museum. Your work is not yet complete though. You still have important decisions to make!

Two-dimensional or Three-dimensional?

You need to decide if you'd like to purchase a two-dimensional or three-dimensional piece of artwork for the museum. Two-dimensional artworks include paintings, drawings, collages, and prints. Two-dimensional works have only two dimensions: height and width. These types of artworks are flat and are usually displayed on the wall.  Three-dimensional artworks are sculptures. Sculptures have three-dimensions: height, width, and depth. They are usually displayed on pedestals. Fragile sculptures are often displayed in glass cases.

Which will you choose?
