A Career Change

You are about to travel back in time to the year 1950. Rock'n roll was hot, poodle skirts were in and Dr. Samuel Martin was a young pediatric intern at General Hospital. He had wanted to be a doctor and help people, probably since the Christmas when he was five and his parents gave him a "medical bag". After 8 years in medical school and 2 years as an intern, Dr. Martin has realized that he will never be happy just treating children, he has decided to dedicate the the rest of his career to finding the cause of birth defects. He would be a happy man if he could retire knowing that he had prevented pain and suffering for children.
