Conclusion

Flat Stanley's Continental Adventure is a fun way to learn about two of the seven continents.  It provides students with an insight into Africa and Australia.  It also gives them an opportunity to research via the internet.  These sites will be safe for the kids to view as they have been previewed.

The opening story tells the children how Stanley got flattened and fills them in on what kind of an adventure they are setting out on.  They will have two choices on this page.  They can choose Australia or Africa.  After they have chosen the continent they would like to visit, they can choose to live with either a cultural group of that continent or a landscape type of place to live in.  The final project will be to create a travel brochure telling about the continent they chose to visit. Background

They are asked to take a trip with flat Stanley.  They have to choose where they want to go and they have to research the contintents to decide which will be best for them to visit.  They will learn about the people, landscape, and wildlife of the continents and will be able to build a brochure about the continent they chose.  They will learn about endangered wildlife and customs of the cultures of these continents.  They will be able to make a decision based upon likes and dislikes they have.
