This iAdventure is a group, web based activity designed for grades 6.This
activity focuses mainly the geography.Other areas in this activity
include Communicative Art, History,Meteorology,and Technology.The iadventure
needs 5-6 forty minutes classes to.Teachers can expand or shorter the allowed
time based on the students' abilities and how detail you want them to achieve.
The basic plot is: the gruop (usually 2 students) represent Sindy 's
best American friends and will provide to her useful inofrmation about
four common natural disasters in America.First, the group have to think
about which state categories-coastal and interior states should they want
to introduce based on Sindy's background. Second,students have to research
the web sites that are given in the adventure and then,choose their favorite
natural disaster.As they decide their choice,they have to research each
web site that are given carefully. I provided sequent these sites in the
second delimma for students to organize their final products.Finally, students
show the natural disaster formation,
scales,effect and protection
by using PowerPoint. In the final
product, studnets are able to learn how to introduce a natural disaster,how
to use visual aid and how to deliver their presentation.
