In this adventure you will embark on a decision making experience.  Monique which is the main character has a dilemma.  She is struggling with her personal gratification vs. pleasing her parents.  She is a girl that has been raised with making good moral decisions.  She is caught in a bind during her senior year when forced to choose what college to go to.  She has many choices but has narrowed it down to 2 which means, either pleasing her parents or pleasing herself.  What is Monique to do?  Help her make the best decision for everyone involved.

You will be discovering how to access resources on the web.  These resources will help in making these important decisions and solving Monique's problems.

Moniques is a black young lady, only child, 18 years old raised in a suburban neighborhood.  She has a warm and bubbly personality and makes friends easliy.  She lives in Blue Springs Missouri and has lived there since she was in the second grade.  She has had the same friends and hasn't frequently went outside of her small community except with parents or to go shopping.  Monique will be graduting in 6 months and has had many acceptance letters to many colleges.  She has carried a consistent G.P.A of 3.85 throughout her High School years.  She of course has been active with many school activities such as Cheerleading, Volunteer organizations, Natioanl Academic League and will be graduating with Honors.  Her parents are very supportive of her being an individual and wants her to definately expereince the college life.
 
 

Graduation is now 3 months away and Monique has encountered a problem.  She feels she has lived a sheltered life and with her next stepping stone in life wants to get away from home and embark on an exciting lifestyle.  Monique has narrowed her choice down to her number one pick of colleges, which is Spelman.  She wasn't offered any scholarship money for her academics and it is out of state.  On the other hand, she has received a full ride all housing and tuition paid if she decides to stay in Missouri and attend UMKC.  Of course this is her parents first an only pick for their baby girl.  They don't want to allow her to leave home so they have told her if she leaves and goes to Spelman she is doing it on her on expense.  They also think it ia an awesome opportunity for her to get her education at no expense.  Monique isn't buying what they are selling, but she respects and loves her parents very much so she must consider their opinion.
