Are you lost as to what kind of career you want when you are out of school? Does your head seem to spin like a tornado, round and round, and your not able to really decide what you want to do? Dorothy has this same dilemma. Take this adventure with Dorothy and find out what kind of jobs you would you could qualify for. You will discover what kind of jobs are available based on your interests. You must remember that there is no wizard that will magically give you your fortune. Fortune is something you have to earn. You will look at different career options available and make decisions as to different career options you might seek. At the end of the adventure, you will decide on a career and apply for the job of your dreams. You will complete a cover letter and a resume that can be submitted to the business you want to apply for. You will answer some interview questions, and you will have a mock interview. You will write a report explaining how you came to the decision you made, decisions based on income, cost of living, talents and abilities etc. To assist you in making these decisions, there will be web sites to access that can help in makings these important decisions and solving these problems.
Leaving Kansas
Dorothy is in high school in Podunk, Kansas and she has been thinking about what kind of career she wants. She knows that it is never too early to think about her future. She knows when she leaves school she will have to work for a living. She will have to make a choice as to what kind of job or career pursue. During the summer time she has been working at Six Flags to earn money, during the school year she works at a fast food restaurant but only on the weekend. She really enjoyed working at Six Flags, she meets a lot of people and really liked the different kinds of jobs she could choose from. Dorothy knows that in every state there are amusement parks but she thinks she would love to live in either California or Florida. But no matter where she lives, she knows she wants her dog Toto to go with her to keep her company.
Dorothy would love to live in Los Angeles, California or Orlando, Florida. She cannot make up her mind which city she would prefer to live in. She has decided that she would take a look at the cost of living in each city, how far it is from home. She knows that she would like to be able to drive back home every once in a while to visit old friends and her family. You also have always wanted to live in Los Angeles or Orlando and would need a place to live that would accept you pet fish. Next Dorothy needs to know what the cost would be to rent an apartment in each city. You have decided you need to look for a 2 bedroom apartments available in the range of rent from $250.00 to $800.00 and find out how many apartments are available. Don't forget your pet fish will be going with you and you must enter that you will have a pet. The web sites below will help you find out how many apartments are available and if they accept pets.
