Background Information
This iAdventure is about the Roman Empire and it's contributions. In this iAdventure, students will be able to expand their knowledge about topics that are subtly presented in their textbooks. This iAdventure focuses on Roman inventions such as aqueducts, their roads, the 2 popular philosophies, and influential Roman emperors.
This iAdventure fulfills the following Missouri Show-Me Standards Curriculum Standards
SS:5 CA:3
SS:6 CA:7Resources Needed
This iAdventure does not require students to have a background knowledge about the Romans in order to complete the activities.
You will need computers with intenet connections and computers with power point in order to complete the assessment. Students should also have something to take notes over the information that they are learning.Assessment An assessment rubric for student participation in the assisgnment is provided on the conlusion page of the iAdventure. There is also a rubric for the power point presentation that students will make. The rubric for the power point presentation has been designed for novice users of power point. More experienced students could have requirements of animation between and during slides as well as links to web pages or hyperlinks to other slides in the presentation.
Creating Conclusions and Student Products
For the conclusion of the iAdventure, students are to compile all of the information they have learned into a power point presentation. They will also have to create a ficticious story about Rome. The story is to be told as if they were alive in the Roman empire and will need to include the two topics they have learned.
