$HOW ME $TANDARD$

4th Grade MATHEMATIC$:

SUMMARY/BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

These fourth graders will be putting their adding and subtracting money values "skills" to the test.
They will be required to plan their own Halloween party!

This requires fourth graders to research party place destinations, compare prices, in addition to figuring out food and activity prices that are within their budget.
They are required to keep track of their progress in order to reflect upon their thought processes throughout this iAdventure.
An iAdventure in sum, is a virtual learning activity where students figure out solutions and make decisions on their own in order to get through it.
They use their prior knowledge from the lessons taught in class.
This activity is time consuming, so I would recommend spreading it out through the month of October in order to successfully have the party on time.
Resources depend on your class's budget; what can be options and what will have to be left out.
It is crucial that the students are experienced with adding and subtracting money values, or this activity could be rather difficult for them.
