The ozone layer is made up of a pale blue gas and this gas is being destroyed from a harmful chemical that we still produce (but not as much as in the past years). Carbon monoxide is one of the many gases that we can release from a multiple of sources. When fossil fuels are used we add to the problem of the destruction of the ozone layer. We also will eventually run out of many kinds of fuels. Over the South Pole there's a weak spot in the ozone layer. This is one of the reasons why 93 world leaders signed a special treaty to stop their countries from producing the chemicals that are dissolving the ozone. If the treaty is signed by all the leaders than the world can be a better place for our descendants.
