The Mouse

 

The scientific name is Mus musculus. Its habitats are woodland, gardens, fields, sand dunes, rocky hillsides, and hedgerows. Its geographic range is North America, Asia, Japan, and Europe. Its classroom habitat is a wheel and pine chips.

Its food in the class room is dog food and birdseed. The food in the wild is wheat, berries, fruit, small insects, and vegetables. The predators of the mouse are snakes, hawks, owls, cats, dogs, ect.

A life cycle of a mouse would be it's born, it eats plants, has kids, and dies. Then the plants use it in the soil. The life span is about a year and a half. Some mice live in groups and some don't. It cares for its young by building a nest, getting food, and cleaning the nest.

Some interesting facts about it is that it cleans itself and doesn't like to be dirty. When it goes to the bathroom it goes away from the nest. The mouse is the smallest animal to ever be domesticated. They get their food at night when it's dark. Rats and gerbils are enemies with the mouse and will kill them.
