SKINKS

This is one of our Great Plain Skinks .

The skink is related to the lizard.

Skinks are the largest lizard family. A skink is about the thickness of a quarter.

In the desert a skink will drink water from a cactus. The skink can have six

to twelve eggs at one time. They can run very fast. If you try to handle them

they will bite you. You can find the great plain skink in Arizona, and Texas.

They hide under and behind rocks and bury themselves in the sand.

They shed their skin.
