The milk snake belongs to the animal kingdom. He is a reptile, and belongs to the Chordata phylum. In the wild, the sinoloan milk snake lives in deserts, swamps, and mountains. In the classroom, he lives in a big tank. He eats baby rabbits and birds in the wild. In the classroom he eats mice and rats. He is eaten by large birds.
The snake's mother doesn't take care of the young, instead they leave them at birth. They can live for 10-15 years. The sinaloan lives by himself when it is not mating season.
When the mating season comes the male and female get together. When they have babies, the father doesn't stay around either. When they breed the male bites the female on the neck.
The milk snake normally sheds its skin in one whole piece. The adult milk snakes can get up to 2-3 feet long.
People call these snakes "milk snakes" because one day a farmer saw a bunch of these snakes around his cows and thought they were sucking his milk. He told people this story, and after that the people of the town called these snakes milk snakes.
These snakes have a striped pattern on their upper and lower part.
