Domestic Mouse

"Fred wants to have fun"!

The house mouse (or domestic mouse) habitat is fields, houses, in the city, and in the country.

It's predators are snakes, owls, and all kinds of birds. It's food in the wild is nuts, seeds, rice, and all kinds of dry foods. It's food in captivity is dry dog food and birdseed.

The mouse usually lives alone unless she's had a pregnancy. The mouse cares for it's young for about three weeks then leaves. It's life span is about a year and a half to two years long.

The way you should handle a mouse is gently pick it up in the middle of it's tail and place it in your hand and be calm with it.
