Felis catus
My report was on the cats, or Felis catus. The cat belongs to the kingdom Animalia, it's phylum is chordate, and the class is mammalia. The cat likes to be in a warm climate in the wild, but it likes to be indoors or outdoors in captivity. He likes to eat dry or wet cat food if in captivity. But in the wild he likes to eat mice, rats, and so on. If the cat has an enemy, it would be anything bigger than itself.
They can be in groups or be alone. If a new cat enters their turf, they are very territorial at first, and then they adapt to the cat. The average cat will live 12 to 16 years before they die. The female cat stays pregnant for 8 to 9 weeks before she has her litter, which consists of 1 to 8 kittens. The mother will stay with the litter for a certain time period which is usually until they have a new litter. During that time they nurse them 6 to 8 weeks, and then they bring them dead food. A mother will bear live young.
Some other interesting facts are they were worshiped as gods, but were later looked at as a symbol of the devil. Pussy, puss, cat, and tabby are names of gods and goddesses. They where domesticated to control the population of rats and mice. Many people thought that they could hold sunlight in their eyes.
